Oben Abright
In the artists, largest exhibition to date, two series of mixed media works of mold blown and cast glass, concrete, and bronze were featured in two gallery spaces. His now iconic “Street People” were installed as you entered the gallery. Sally, a local bag woman in glass and concrete, stood near a powerful rendition of The Tenderloin Figure, again with a face of mould blown glass reclining in a concrete sleeping bag encrusted in found glass from her environment.
The exhibition, inside an 1850’s red brick, wood floored factory building, continued into the second gallery where mixed media portraits of Abright’s universe of friends stood among the structure of the factory setting.
